1. Introduction

Welcome to Precise Expressions. By accessing our website and purchasing our products, you agree to be bound by the following Terms of Service (“Terms”). Please read them carefully before placing an order.

These Terms apply to all users of the site, including browsers, vendors, customers, merchants, and/or contributors of content.

2. Customisation & Personalisation Accuracy

Our products are bespoke and made-to-order based on the specific details you provide.

  • 2.1 User Responsibility: You are solely responsible for ensuring that all personalisation details (spelling, grammar, dates, and punctuation) are correct at the time of ordering. We copy and paste your text directly into our engraving software.

  • 2.2 No Proofing Provided: Unless explicitly agreed upon in writing prior to production, we do not provide digital proofs. We do not correct spelling errors or modify your design input.

  • 2.3 Natural Variations: Many of our products are made from natural materials (e.g., Acacia wood, slate, leather).

    • Wood: Grain patterns and knots vary between pieces. Laser engraving may appear lighter or darker depending on the density of the wood grain. These are natural characteristics, not defects.

    • Slate: As a natural stone, surface texture and chipped edges will vary.

  • 2.4 Rejection of Content: We reserve the right to refuse to engrave content that is offensive, hate speech, or infringes on the intellectual property rights of others.

3. Returns, Refunds & Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

3.1 Change of Mind (No Returns) Due to the permanent, personalised nature of our products, we do not offer refunds, exchanges, or store credit for “change of mind” or incorrect selection. Once an item has been engraved with your custom details, it cannot be resold.

3.2 Customer Errors We are not liable for errors resulting from your input (e.g., you misspelt a name or chose the wrong phone number). Replacements for these errors will be at the customer’s full expense.

3.3 Faulty or Damaged Goods If your item arrives damaged or has a manufacturing defect (excluding natural variations described in Clause 2.3), please contact us within 48 hours of delivery.

  3. We will assess the issue and provide a replacement, repair, or refund in accordance with the ACL.

4. Pricing & Payment

  • 4.1 Currency: All prices are listed in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include Goods and Services Tax (GST) unless otherwise stated.

  • 4.2 Price Changes: Prices for our products are subject to change without notice.

  • 4.3 Payment Methods: We accept Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, Direct Deposit. Orders will not be processed until payment is confirmed.

5. Shipping & Delivery

  • 5.1 Processing Time: As our items are made-to-order, please allow 3-5 business days for production before your item is shipped.

  • 5.2 Shipping Carriers: We use Australia Post for deliveries.

  • 5.3 Delays: While we ensure timely dispatch, we are not liable for delays caused by the shipping carrier, natural disasters, or strikes.

  • 5.4 Risk of Loss: Title and risk of loss for all products pass to you upon our delivery to the carrier. If an item is marked as “Delivered” by the carrier but you have not received it, please contact the carrier directly.

6. Intellectual Property

  • 6.1 Our IP: All content on this site (images, text, logos, designs) is the property of Precise Expressions and is protected by Australian copyright laws.

  • 6.2 Your Content: By submitting images or text for engraving, you warrant that you have the right to use that content and that it does not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of any third party. You agree to indemnify Precise Expressions against any claims resulting from the use of content you provide.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Precise Expressions shall not be liable for any injury, loss, claim, or any direct, indirect, incidental, punitive, or consequential damages arising from your use of our products.

8. Governing Law

These Terms of Service and any separate agreements whereby we provide you services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Victoria, Australia.
